Gershow Donates Aluminum Scrap To SBPLI Robotics Teams

For the sixth year in a row, Gershow Recycling opened its Medford facility to local high school robotics teams participating in School-Business Partnerships of Long Island’s (SBPLI) upcoming Long Island FIRST® (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competition to receive free aluminum scrap.

Firefighters Demonstrate Car Crash Rescues at Fundraiser

 

Firefighters from around the area teamed up at the Four Towns Training Center to demonstrate how first responders pull car crash victims from their vehicles. The event was made possible through the donation of scrapped cars from Gershow Recycling. Proceeds from the event go to the North Merrick Fire Department’s scholarship fund.

Gershow Interviewed for Can Tabs 4 Kids Segment

 

Gershow Manager Jonathan Abrams was interviewed for a video blog on Can Tabs 4 Kids. For the program, students at William Floyd Elementary School collected aluminum tabs which were later brought to Gershow, where they were weighed. As part of their involvement in the program, Gershow matched the amount of money raised by the students.
