Gershow Recycling Supports Patchogue-Medford
High School Robotics Team

Upon learning that the Patchogue-Medford robotics team was in need of funds to compete in the 2009 competition, Suffolk County Legislator Jack Eddington reached out to local businesses, asking them for their financial support. Gershow Recycling answered the call from Legislator Eddington by donating $1,000 to the robotics team to help cover these costs. At last year’s FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Regional Robotics Competition, Patchogue-Medford High School received the highest honor, the Regional Chairman's award. The Chairman's Award is the most prestigious award of the event and recognizes the team that embodies the goals and purpose of FIRST and best represents a model for other teams to emulate. The FIRST Robotics competition is sponsored by the School-Business Partnerships of Long Island.
