Eric Kugler, manager of Gershow’s Brooklyn facility, presented the Gershow Recycling Environmental Conservation Scholarship to Iseinie Mendez, a student at Frederick Douglass Academy VII in Brooklyn, during the school’s graduation ceremony on June 26 at Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn.

For the past nine years, Gershow presented this one-time, $1,000 scholarship to graduating high school seniors at Patchogue-Medford, Bellport and Longwood High Schools.

This year, Gershow expanded the scholarship program to include additional schools in the communities surrounding their locations, including Bay Shore High School, Lindenhurst High School, Walt Whitman High School, Freeport High School, Herricks High School, Valley Stream Central High School, and Frederick Douglass Academy VII.

As a leading environmental recycling company, Gershow awards the competitive scholarship to graduating seniors pursuing a degree in either environmental science or engineering.
