Eight teams came to Gershow's Medford facility on January 21 to pick up scrap to construct their 130-pound robots that will compete in the 13th annual Long Island FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Competition (FRC) on March 29-31 at Hofstra University.

The teams included Connetquot, Hauppauge, Hicksville, Lindenhurst, Patchogue-Medford, Plainview-Old Bethpage, Smithtown and Westhampton Beach.
