Gershow Recycling Donates Three Vehicles to Merrick FD for Extrication Exercise

Charles Keeling (left), Safety Director, Gershow Recycling, poses with members of the Merrick Fire Department in front of one of the three vehicles donated by Gershow for an extrication exercise held on February 27.

In support of local Fire, Rescue and Emergency Medical Services crews, Gershow Recycling donated three cars to the Merrick Fire Department for an extrication exercise the firefighters performed on February 27 at the 4 Towns Training Center in Merrick.

During the exercise, firefighters used the "Jaws of Life” and other firefighting tools on the vehicle. The practice helps firefighters prepare themselves in the event they needed to extricate a victim from a vehicle involved in a crash. The Merrick Fire Department thanked Gershow for its donation.
