Gershow Recycling donated a vehicle to the Blue Point Fire Department for an extrication exercise the firefighters performed on August 22. The exercise was filmed for an episode of "Firehouse Kitchen” that is scheduled to air on WLNY-TV 10/55 on October 27 at 11:30 a.m.

During the exercise, firefighters extricated a "victim” from a car involved in a "crash” using the "Jaws of Life.” The Blue Point Fire Department thanked Gershow for their support and unique opportunities for simulated emergency training.

Hosted by Joseph Bonanno, former New York City firefighter and author of "The Healthy Firehouse Cookbook,” "Firehouse Kitchen” explores the reality of being a firefighter by bringing together two powerful elements of their lives: food and their heroic lifestyle.

"Firehouse Kitchen” is scheduled to air on WLNY-TV between October and December and can be seen on Channel 10 (Cablevision and FiOS) and Channel 55 (Time Warner Cable, DirecTV and DISH Network).
