Gershow Recycling Donates Two Vehicles to Terryville FD for Extrication Exercise

Members of the Terryville Fire Department pose in front of one of the two vehicles donated by Gershow Recycling for an extrication exercise held on May 3.

In support of local Fire, Rescue and Emergency Medical Services crews, Gershow Recycling donated two cars to the Terryville Fire Department for an extrication exercise the firefighters performed at their Port Jefferson Station substation on May 3.

During the exercise, firefighters used the "Jaws of Life" and other firefighting tools on the vehicle. The practice helps firefighters prepare themselves in the event they needed to extricate a victim from a vehicle involved in a crash.
