In support of local Fire, Rescue and Emergency Medical Services crews, Gershow Recycling opened its Huntington Station facility to the Huntington Fire Department on September 20 and the Cold Spring Harbor Fire Department on September 21 to allow them to perform their extrication exercises. Gershow provided three vehicles for each fire department.

During these exercises, firefighters learned first-hand how to use the "Jaws of Life" and other firefighting tools on the vehicle in the event they needed to extricate a victim from the vehicle involved in a crash.

Both the Huntington and Cold Spring Harbor Fire Departments thanked Gershow for their generous support.
