In support of local Fire, Rescue and Emergency Medical Services crews, Gershow Recycling donated vehicles to local fire departments. Gershow donated two vehicles to the Hauppauge Fire Department's open house on October 15, one vehicle for the Town of Islip Technical Rescue team for an extrication exercise at Brookhaven National Laboratory on October 16 and three vehicles for the North Patchogue Fire Department's open house on October 16.

During these exercises, firefighters used the "Jaws of Life" and other firefighting tools on these vehicles in the event they needed to extricate a victim from the vehicle involved in a crash. The fire departments expressed their gratitude for Gershow's donation.
